HeatAndClimateLib

This mod adds a basic system for HeatAndClimate.

Climate

The climate is the core of this mod. It brings various influences to the player.
Climate parameters are treated with Enum, and are indicated by HUD.


Biomes

(v2.5+) The specification of biome temperature has been changed.
Add the correction value to the base temperature and determine HeatTier. Those correction value also affects the vanilla temperature system. (ex. biome color, terrian gen)

Biome Base Temperature -0.5F ~ 2.0F
Seasonal Effect SPR +0.05F / SMR +0.40F / AUT 0F / WTR -0.4F
These value can be changed by config.
Weather Effect Rain -0.4F / Drought +0.4F
These value can be changed by config.
Altitude Effect (Y Pos - 80) * -0.05F
At high altitude the temperature drops.
Roof Effect Under the roof, Suppress the temperature of the biome.

Blocks

  • Block temperature affects 5x5x5 block area.
  • Block humidity and airflow affects 3x3x3 block area.

Climate sometimes harms creatures by heat or cold damage. The amount of damage can be changed by config. If you choose SWEET, you will be safe unless you approach the dangerous block. Of course it can be turned off by config.

Damage can be confirmed with the heart type icon.

They are the threat of players. However, there are many ways to prevent damage.

  • Wear clothes
    Being naked in harsh climate is very dangerous. Armor made of leather and cloth will protect you. Metallic armor has only a slight protection effect.
  • Under the roofs
    The roof prevents you from dangerous climate and weather. Evacuating in the house is also a good choice.
  • Temperature control using block
    You can heat with Jack O Lantern or torch, or cool with ice. Various blocks have temperature.

Climate Smelting

Climate Smelting is a new change recipe for blocks and entities. When you place blocks or entities in the correct climate (HeatTier, Humidity, Airflow), they change state naturally. They may change in a short time, but they may change slowly (just like the growth of wheat) in some cases.


In this mod, the correct climate is required for many recipes (metal refining, chemical reaction, cooking and cultivation etc etc). Players can promote or defend it by manipulating the climate.
For example, you can build a furnace for refining and baking. It is much more free than a multiblock system, there is no single correct answer.

Modification of vanilla nature

This mod modifies the nature of vanilla.

Farmland and crop growth


  • In a WET climate , the farmland does not need a water block.
  • The WET block (ex. Wet Sponge) can be a substitute for the water source.
  • The climate affects the growth rate of the crop.
    • WET and WARM: Promotion
    • Colder than COOL: Inhibition

Underworld in WET biomes


In WET Biome, lava does not exist on the underground. Subsurface lava will be replaced by water, lava lakes will be replaced by Magma Block. This was added to improve that the landscape of the underground world is more boring than the surface of the world. It also suggests the possibility of getting Magma Blocks in the Overworld (that's means, you can craft Blaze Rod in Overworld).
